Almost 35% of Americans have moved in the last five years, which means more than one in three of us have recently experienced the stress of packing, unpacking and rebuilding what we call “home”.

The aim of this year’s Loss of a Loved One event, The Upside of Downsizing: How to Take Control When Moving On, was to equip our clients with the tools to make this transition successfully, whether it’s happening as they empty their nest, move on from a relationship, or cope with the passing of someone dear.

On October 3rd, moving expert Sharon Bregman joined Karen Altfest, CFP®, Ph.D. for an interactive discussion about where to start when facing these challenges, including how to:

  • Decide what to do with personal and family belongings
  • Determine the value of your “stuff”
  • Establish how and when to move on
  • Begin the next phase of your life

Below is an audio recording of the event for you to listen and share at your convenience.

If you have any financial questions as you plan your next big move, we encourage you to reach out to your Altfest advisor.
