As part of the firm’s Altfest Giving initiative, Altfest employees have raised and donated funds to two organizations that we feel exemplify service in a moment of critical need: New York Common Pantry and Get Us PPE.

Serving our clients and our community is at the core of Altfest’s values. The Altfest family matched every donation made by the firm’s employees, and foster an ongoing dialogue to encourage individual and group giving.

About the New York Common Pantry
The New York Common Pantry (NYCP) was founded by Karen Altfest, CFP®, Ph.D. in 1980 with the mission to reduce hunger throughout New York City. Since the COVID-19 crisis hit the city this past March, the New York Common Pantry has distributed over 914,860 meals and counting, at a time when more families than ever are facing hunger for the first time.

Altfest staff members often volunteer at NYCP, one of the oldest and largest food programs in the U.S., to provide meals and food packages to needy New Yorkers.

About Get Us PPE
Healthcare workers are front line fighters against COVID-19, but they continue to face critical shortages of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) nationwide. Get Us PPE is a national grassroots coalition of volunteers mobilized to address the PPE shortage and get healthcare heroes the protection they need.

Altfest’s donation to Get Us PPE was made in honor of our clients and colleagues on the front lines, as well as the healthcare associations we are proud to partner with – the Medical Society of the State of New York, the New York State Dental Association, the New York Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and the New York State Psychological Association.
