
Investment decisions at Altfest are made by the firm’s investment committee, with Lew Altfest at the helm. Each member of the firm’s investment team specializes in different sub areas, such as alternative investments and small-cap domestic equity. The investment team is comprised of members of the firm’s wealth management team and investment research team.
ANDREW ALTFEST:
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGY AND INVESTMENTS
Andrew is Executive Vice-President of Strategy and Investments and a member of the firm’s investment committee. He has spent years working with clients and contributing analyses to the investment portfolio and operations of the firm.
Andrew received his B.A. with honors in English from Cornell University and his M.B.A. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business, where he served as head of The Honor Board. He has spoken at local universities including New York University, and has appeared in the press covering financial issues.

In his free time, Andrew enjoys running, tennis, biking, new restaurants, traveling to different countries and learning about their cultures.
QI LU:
SENIOR PORTFOLIO STRATEGIST
Qi, a Senior Portfolio Strategist, plays a key role in managing the firm’s individual stock portfolio and contributed to the development of TPM (Total Portfolio Management), our proprietary portfolio management tool. In addition, Qi covers small and mid-cap investments and is heavily involved in the general research of the equity and fixed income markets.
Qi received his Ph.D. in finance from Northwestern University, an M.A. in Mathematics from Cornell University and his B.A. in Mathematics from Peking University in Beijing. His article “Do Stock Mergers Create Value for Acquirers?” is forthcoming in the Journal of Finance.
