Investment Management

At Altfest, we actively manage diversified, customized portfolios on our clients’ behalf. The firm’s bottom-line investment process is one built on disciplined analysis and experience. Having invested client money since 1983, we’ve lived through many economic cycles, and bull and bear markets, from the crash of ’87 to the roaring market of the 90’s. Our clients’ assets are held at two of the largest custodial firms, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade.

  • To create customized portfolios for our clients, we rely on a blend of analytical and personalized assessment: TPM™ (Total Portfolio Management), pioneered by Altfest, is a significant contribution to the field of portfolio construction. TPM™ represents holistic financial management, integrating financial planning and investment management in order to achieve the highest standard of living and quality of life possible, given a client’s tolerance for risk. We look at all the components in a person’s life, comprehensively, and develop a plan that can help each client attain his or her financial and lifestyle goals.
  • Our second key tool in portfolio analysis is listening. When clients tell us they won’t sleep at night if they perceive their portfolio is risky, we listen. When they tell us that their most important goal is to educate their children, or buy a second home upstate, or leave their high-pressure job in five years to work for a non-profit foundation, we hear and we understand. Our role is to discover what makes clients unique so we can help them imagine – and ultimately live – the life they desire.

Clients whose investments we manage also have full access to our financial planning services.
